The RBYC Club has been settled at the Jalan Kota Batu site since
1986. This is the more formal of the Clubs two facilities. Conveniently situated
only 10 minutes outside Bandar Seri Begawan, this is a popular venue for lunching guests
and business associates.
It has an air conditioned restaurant and bar, with a wide screen
television available for viewing international sporting events. Snooker is also available,
darts, and karaoke.
An open air deck has been expanded over the years. It is an
atmospheric and peaceful spot for sun downers and dinner looking onto a small garden,
jetty, and across the Brunei River towards the mangroves.
Regular special Club nights are held at Kota Batu, including
quizzes and band nights, and the office is based here. A casual smart dress code exists in
the evenings after 20.00 hours and the restaurant is out of bounds to children from that
hour.

The Serasa club house situated on
Serasa spit
comes very much into its own over weekends and holidays. Families enjoy the informal
atmosphere of the open air restaurant and a varied menu now updated regularly by
specials.
There is an open air swimming pool and a
childrens play area as well as the boating activity, and full shower and changing
facilities. Boat Yard Manager John Malthouse and his team provide launching and retrieval
services from the jetty and can undertake repairs - and rescue if occasioned.

Serasa Garden
|
The position on the Muara Bay allows a stunning
view towards the Crocker Mountain range in Sarawak. The garden has been landscaped in
recent years and tables and chairs allow parents to socialise while supervising their
childrens play on the beach.
The Serasa facility opened in 1980
but was soon expanded due to its popularity. It is an open-air stilt-house
design, with a private beach area. An air conditioned room with large-screen
TV is also available for members use, and there is a small library of books. |
